CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF SYNCROLIFT COATING WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Harbormaster has recognized a need for protective
maintenance of the Syncrolift piling; and
WHEREAS, continued neglect will cause excessive corrosion to
the piling; and
WHEREAS, syncrolift coating was approved as a part of the FY
1990 Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project is available in the FY 1990
Harbor equipment budget as approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Harbormaster received three price quotes for the
purchase of suitable coating material; and
WHEREAS, the quote submitted by Northwest Anti Corrosion for
the purchase of Waxoyl was determined to be the most cost-effec-
tive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid
procedures for the purchase of protective coating material for the
Syncrolift.
section 2. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase
order to Northwest Anti Corrosion for the purchase of 375 gallons
of Waxoyl Hardwax for a total cost of Twenty-Two Thousand, Five
Hundred and sixteen Dollars and Forty-Six Cents ($22,516.46),
F.O.B. Seattle.
section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of September, 1989.
