CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION
OF THE CITY OF SEWARD IN A USE AGREEMENT WITH
RURAL ALASKA COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM, INC., FOR THE
PURPOSE OF A HEAD START PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Rural Alaska Communi ty Action Program, Inc.
operates a Head Start Program in Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Head Start Program must be supported in part by
the community to remain eligible for continued federal financial
assistance; and
WHEREAS, the community has supported the Head Start Program
over the past seven years by donating space in the Seward community
Library; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Community Library property was transferred
to the city of Seward in 1988; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the public interest to
continue support for the Head Start Program;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a use
agreement with the Rural Alaska Community Action Program, Inc. for
the purpose of supporting the Head Start Program for the 1989/90
program year.
section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 23rd day of October, 1989.
