CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-134
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, URGING THE KENAI PENINSULA
BOROUGH TO SUPPORT THE ALASKA MUNICIPAL LEAGUE
WHEREAS, the Alaska Municipal League exists to promote local
government throughout Alaska~ and
WHEREAS, currently 113 local governments, providing services
to approximately 95% of the state's population, hold membership in
the Alaska Municipal League~ and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Municipal League provides member munici-
palities with information, advocacy at the state and federal
levels, training, research and other services which can be provided
more efficiently and more effectively in conjunction with other
local governments~ and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Municipal League has successfully lobbied
for full funding of the school foundation formula for FY 90 and for
funding for the school construction debt reimbursement program ~ and
WHEREAS, to continue its role as
governments, AML must have the support
throughout the state~
an advocate of local

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly is urged to
adopt KPB Resolution No. 89-117, funding the borough's membership
dues for the Alaska Municipal League.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 23rd day of October, 1989.
