CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-138
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH AN ACCOUNTING CLERK POSITION
WHEREAS, the Finance Department is in need of additional
personnel in order to appropriately fulfill it's duties, services,
and responsibilities on a timely basis; and
WHEREAS, clerical, secretarial and filing duties are lacking
on a regular basis resulting in errors and a loss of funds to the
city; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Department is responsible for all of the
traditional finance functions in addition to many of the ad-
ministrative functions of the city including risk management,
personnel, insurance, and purchasing; and
WHEREAS, the addition of another accounting clerk position
will lend additional support to the current staff in the Finance
Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to ap-
propriate the sum of Twenty One Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars
($21,500) from Contract and Administration Overhead Fees to the
Finance Department Fiscal Year 1990 budget for the purpose of
funding an accounting clerk position in that department.
section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of seward,
Alaska, this 6th day of November, 1989.
