CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO.96-145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES FOR THE TEEN
AND YOUTH CENTER
WHEREAS, on December 12, 1995, the administration requested a $36,513 appropriation
from the City Council to purchase certain equipment and supplies for the remodeled Teen and Youth
Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council amended the request by deleting what were considered to be
excessive shipping charges and some of the requested items, leaving the department with a total of
$30,000 to purchase the equipment and supplies; and
WHEREAS, during negotiations with the contractor performing the remodel of the Center,
the City agreed to delete construction and installation of an entertainment center and benches from
the construction agreement; and
WHEREAS, although they were not included in the original list of supplies and equipment
identified for purchase, the Teen Council and the department opted to fund the purchase of the
entertainment center and benches from the $30,000 appropriated by the City Council in December
1995; and
WHEREAS, the Teen and Youth Center's programs have been successful and have received
active participation from area youth and teens; and
WHEREAS, additional supplies and equipment are needed to continue and expand the
services offered by the Teen and Youth Center; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for these purchases in the Fund Balance Account designated
for Community Center Renovations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $9,540 is hereby appropriated form the General Fund Fund Balance
Designated for Community Center Renovations, Account No. 101-0000-3041, to the Teen and
Youth Center Expenditures Account No. 101-1430-XXXX.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
