CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-005
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH KPMG PEAT MARWICK TO REVIEW
THE CITY'S PROCUREMENT AND USE OF LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City Council requested that the administration
explore the availability of consulting services to examine the
city's procurement and use of legal services; and
WHEREAS, city auditors KPMG Peat Marwick is performing a
similar study for the Anchorage School District; and
WHEREAS, the city Council finds that KPMG Peat Marwick has the
expertise and the necessary knowledge of the city's legal needs to
provide the legal services review; and
WHEREAS, professional services agreements are exempt from the
bid procedures set forth in the City Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a professional services agreement with KPMG Peat Marwick in an
amount not to exceed $8,930 to develop recommendations to improve
the city's procurement, use and control of its legal services.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the city Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 14th day of January, 1991.
