CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY PURCHASE
OF A SEWAGE LIFT PUMP MOTOR
WHEREAS, one of two 77 horsepower electric sewage pump motors
in Sewage Lift station No. 3 burned out: and
WHEREAS, this station pumps all of the sewage from the city to
the sewage treatment plant at Lowell Point: and
WHEREAS, a replacement pump motor was located in California
and is available FOB Anchorage for a price of $20,000: and
WHEREAS, the urgent need for replacement of the pump classi-
fies this purchase as an emergency purchase under the City Code
and, therefore, exempt from city bid procedures:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. City bid procedures for the purchase of a sewage
lift pump are hereby waived, and the city manager is authorized to
make an emergency purchase of a pump motor in the amount of
$20,000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 11th day of March, 1991.
