CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, WAIVING BID REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF MODULAR OFFICE FURNITURE
WHEREAS, Lynn Barrett, Alaska Business Environments represen-
tative, has been working with the Finance Department to design
individual work centers that will more efficiently utilize the
crowded office space within the department and provide for a more
efficient work environment: and
WHEREAS, vendors of the types of modular office work centers
are limited: and
WHEREAS, the city desires to work directly with the designer
of the work centers in choosing the best quality work centers
within the budget established for the project: and
WHEREAS, the final design of the office space will include the
type and brand of furniture to be utilized; and
WHEREAS, the city desires to negotiate directly with the
vendors carrying the particular work centers recommended by the
designer in order to get the best possible price for the furniture:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid
procedures for the purchase of work centers for the Finance
Department.
Section 2. Following price negotiations, the administration
shall receive City Council approval prior to finalizing the
purchase of said work centers.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 11th day of March, 1991.
