CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-027
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A USE AGREEMENT WITH RURAL ALASKA
COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM, INC., TO PROVIDE THE
HEAD START PROGRAM DURING THE 1990-91 PROGRAM YEAR
WHEREAS, the Seward Community Library has provided a facility
to house the local Head Start Program: and
WHEREAS, an eligible RurAL CAP community must provide local
support up to at least 25% of the local program budget: and
WHEREAS, each year the city is requested to execute a
Facilities Use Agreement which sets forth the local contribution:
and
WHEREAS, the Head Start Program provides a pre-school
education opportunity for children who otherwise could not
participate in a like problem because of the family I s economic
situation; and
WHEREAS, the city Council finds that it is in the public
interest to continue to participate in this pre-school program:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a Facilities Use Agreement with the Rural Alaska Community Action
Program, Inc., a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein
by reference.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of March, 1991.
