CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-030
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF OUTBOARD ENGINES FOR THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR
WHEREAS, following the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the city
received $13,000 from Exxon to cover replacement cost of two 140-
horsepower outboard engines for the Harbor's 25' Whaler: and
WHEREAS, these funds were received during the city's Fiscal
Year 1990 budget: and
WHEREAS, at the March 11, 1991, Council Meeting, the City
council approved Resolution No. 91-023 authorizing the purchase of
the engines for the sum of $11,420: and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 91-023 failed to provide for the
appropriation of funds from the Harbor Fund Balance to the Harbor
Equipment Account to cover the cost of the outboard engines: and
WHEREAS, the Harbor Department desires to use the excess funds
to replace the cable steering on its 21' Whaler with hydraulic
steering:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The sum of $13,000 is hereby appropriated from the
Harbor Fund Balance Account No. 401-3070 to the Harbor Fund
Equipment Account No. 401-4110-5930 for the purpose of purchasing
two new outboard engines and a hydraulic steering system for the
Harbor Department.
section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of March, 1991.
