CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SWENSON CONSTRUCTION
FOR THE LIBRARY RENOVATION PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS
WHEREAS, an invitation to bid for renovation of the Seward Community Library was
advertised in accordance with standard city bid procedures, and two bidders responded as requested;
and
WHEREAS, the low bid submitted by Swenson Construction has been found to be
responsive and the bidder has been determined to be responsible; and
WHEREAS, funds for the project are available from state library grant projects and in the
library's general fund account;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A contract for construction of the Library Renovation Project is hereby awarded
to Swenson Construction for a price not to exceed $27,100.
Section 2. The sum of$6,203,OO is hereby appropriated from the FY 1996 Library Operating
Budget Account Number 101-1500-5920, with one-half of the appropriation, or $3,101,50, going
to each of the Library Renovation Project Account Nos. 271-2710-5390 and 271-2712-5390,
Section 3, This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 13th
day ofJanuary, 1997.
