CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-015
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE FY 1997 CAPITAL MATCHING GRANT FOR
HISTORICAL RECORDS PRESERVATION; APPROPRIATING FUNDS
AND AMENDING THE BROWNS RIVER BINDERY PURCHASE ORDER
FOR RECORDS PRESERVATION
WHEREAS, the City has requested and received a Municipal Capital Matching Grant under
SLA 1996 Chapter 123, Section 6, for the preservation of the City's historical records; and
WHEREAS, accepting this grant will enable the City to complete the preservation of its
original ordinances, resolutions and minutes; and
WHEREAS, most of the City's match under the grant will be in the form of personnel
services; and
WHEREAS, Browns River Bindery has a current contract to provide records preservation
services, and it is the desire of the City to increase the amount of this purchase order to provide
continuity in the preservation of the City's historical records;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. State Capital Matching Grant No 97/668-9-007 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. Grant funds totaling $28,662 are hereby accepted from the State of Alaska and
are appropriated to Revenue Account No, 271-2716-4680-0200, and the sum of $5,500 is
appropriated from the General Fund Transfers-Out Account No, 101-0000-3070-0271 to the
Historical Records Preservation Fund Transfers-In Account No, 271-0000-3070-0000.
Section 3. The purchase order issued to Browns River Bindery for preservation of city
historical records is hereby increased by an amount not to exceed $28,262.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 13th day
of January, 1997,
