CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE METCO, INC.,
CONTRACT FOR LOWELL CANYON WATER LINE RELOCATION
WHEREAS, in October 1996, the City Council approved Resolution No, 96-128 authorizing
the City Manager to enter into a contract with Metco, Inc" to relocate the Lowell Canyon waterline
at a cost not to exceed $94,000 which included a base price of $86,000 plus ten percent to cover unit
prices for pipe bedding, trench backfill, and removal and disposal of unsuitable material; and
WHEREAS, because of higher than anticipated amounts of unsuitable material which had
to be removed and disposed of by the contractor, the actual cost of the contract exceeded the $94,000
authorized by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The contract between the City and Metco, Inc" for relocation of the Lowell
Canyon water line is hereby increased in the amount of$6,523,52,
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of February, 1997,
