CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE CITY'S 1997 FEDERAL AND STATE
LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES
WHEREAS, September 23, 1996 the City Council approved Resolution No, 96-121,
adopting the City's 1997 Federal Legislative Priorities Program; and
WHEREAS, on November 25,1996 the City Council approved Resolution No, 96-150,
adopting the 1997 State Legislative Priorities Program; and
WHEREAS, after further consideration of the priorities set by these resolutions, it is the
desire of the City Council to amend the priority listings to better reflect the needs of the community
and the availability offederal and state funding for local projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Resolution No. 96-121, adopting the City's Federal Legislative Priorities
Program, is hereby amended by inserting "Start-Up Science Research Funding for the Alaska
SeaLife Center" as its number two priority and renumbering the priorities listed after it accordingly,
Section 2. Resolution No. 96-150, establishing projects and priorities for the 1997 State
Legislative Program, is hereby amended by rewording the number two priority to read "Spring Creek
Correctional Center Expansion and/or private prison development.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of March, 1997.
