CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO, 97-043
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING A CHANGE ORDER TO THE SWENSON
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR
COMPLETION OF THE LIBRARY REMODEL PROJECT
WHEREAS, on January 13, 1997, the City Council approved Resolution No. 97-008,
awarding a contract to Swenson Construction to renovate the Jackie Deck Local History Room into
a children's library; and
WHEREAS, once the project was underway, it became apparent that the three tempered
glass windows which were to be installed in the wall separating the children's library from the main
area should be larger to enhance visual supervision of the children's room; and
WHEREAS, funds for a change order to provide the larger windows are available in the
Library's Operating budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $640.00 is hereby appropriated from the Library's General Fund
Account No, 101-1500-5920 to the Children's Library-Contracted Services Account No, 271-2710-
5390-213.
Section 2. Purchase Order No. 21610 to Swenson Construction Company is hereby amended
by increasing the total by $640,00 for a total contract amount of $27,740,00.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of March, 1997,
