HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1997-046 r r Sponsored by: Garzini CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 97-046 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION TO THE COLLEC- TIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS WHEREAS, the current agreement between the City of Seward ("City") and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers ("IBEW") expires on June 30, 1997; and WHEREAS, the current agreement calls for either a 3,6% annual increase for the affected employees or reopening the agreement to bargaining; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of both the City and IBEW to extend the current agreement without an annual salary increase and without reopening the agreement to bargaining; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. A Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Seward and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers extending the current contract between the parties until June 30, 1998, under the terms and conditions set forth in the Memorandum of Agreement, is hereby approved, Section 2. A copy of the Memorandum of Agreement referenced in Section 1, above, is attached and incorporated herein by reference. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
