CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-050
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE HARBOR ENTERPRISE FUND LEGAL
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council budgeted $5,000 in the FY 1997 legal budget for legal
services associated with the Seward Forest Products lease; and
WHEREAS, because ofthe complexity of the legal issues involved in the termination of the
existing lease and transfer of property and tidelands through sale and lease respectively to Afognak
Logging, the budgeted funds are insufficient to cover current and projected legal expenses; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City to cover the excess legal fees from the anticipated
proceeds of the sale ofthe sawmill property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of$20,000 is hereby appropriated from the Harbor Enterprise Fund Land
Sales Account No, 401-4370-4640-0200 to Legal Subject Matter No, 4103, Seward Forest Products,
Account No. 401-4370-5170-4103,
Section 2. Expenditures for legal services totaling up to $25,000 for matters relating to the
Seward Forest Products legal subject matter are hereby approved.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 14th
day of April, 1997,
