CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-055
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO LEASE NO. 87-062
BETWEEN THE CITY AND KENAI FJORDS TOURS TO ENLARGE THE
LEASE SITE, EXTEND THE LEASE TERM AND ADJUST THE LEASE
RATE
WHEREAS, Tom Tougas has requested that the City amend its lease with Kenai Fjords
Tours Limited Partnership in order to enlarge the lease site; and
WHEREAS, increasing the size of the lease site will enable the lessee to extend the existing
structure to add additional visitor staging space and badly needed public restrooms; and
WHEREAS, Tougas has also requested that the term of the lease be extended for an
additional ten years in order to meet certain financing requirements; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for these amendments, Tougas has agreed to an adjustment in the
annual rental rate to reflect current fair market value of the site;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the
City Amendment No.2 to Lease No. 87-062 between the City of Seward and Kenai Fjords Tours
Limited Partnership.
Section 2. A copy of the lease amendment is attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 28th
day of April, 1997.
