RESOLUTION NO. 97-059
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF CITY CLERK LINDA
MURPHY AND SETTING THE TERMS FOR HER DEPARTURE FROM
CITY EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, City Clerk Linda Murphy ("Murphy") has tendered her resignation to the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, under the tenns of the agreement between the City and Murphy, Murphy must
give the City 90 days' written notice of her resignation unless such notice is waived by the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, Murphy has asked that she be allowed to leave her employment with the City
effective May 30, 1997, in order to assume her new position as Clerk of the Kenai Peninsula Borough
effective June 2, 1997; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to accommodate Murphy's request;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The employment agreement between the City of Seward and City Clerk Linda S.
Murphy shall terminate May 30, 1997,
Section 2. Upon conveyance to the City of all City files and property in her possession,
Murphy shall be paid all sums due her for time worked and any accumulated vacation leave as
required by City Code, Charter and the employment agreement.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day
of May, 1997,
