CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City issued a request for proposals for external audit services in accordance
with standard city bid procedures; and
WHEREAS, four proposals were received in response to the request for proposals; and
WHEREAS, KPMG Peat Marwick received the highest rating on the four basic criteria for
evaluating the proposals but received the lowest fee rating since its proposal included the highest cost
to the City; and
WHEREAS, cost is not the sole factor in the selection of the City's external audit firm;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with
Mikunda, Cottrell & Co, to provide external audit services to the City of Seward for Fiscal Years
1997,1998 and 1999 with two one-year options for renewal subject to approval of the City Council.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day
of May, 1997.
