RESOLUTION NO. 97-080
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPOINTING PATRICIA JONES ACTING CITY CLERK AND
SETTING HER SALARY
WHEREAS, City Clerk Linda S. Murphy has tendered her resignation to the City Council
and the Council has regretfully accepted the resignation; and
WHEREAS, Murphy will leave employment with the City of Seward effective May 30,
1997, in order to assume her new position as Kenai Peninsula Borough Clerk; and
WHEREAS, at its May 20, 1997 work session, the City Council agreed to appoint Patricia
Jones Acting City Clerk during the interim while the Council advertised for a new city clerk; and
WHEREAS, the Council has set Jones salary at 10 percent above her current rate of pay;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Patricia Jones is hereby APPOINTED Acting City Clerk effective May 31, 1997
until a new city clerk reports to work.
Section 2. Patricia Jones will receive a salary increase equal to 10 percent above her current
rate of$19.61 per hour, non-exempt status, to $21.56 per hour, exempt status.
Section3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 27 day
of May, 1997.
