RESOLUTION NO. 97-090
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH METCO, INC. TO INSTALL
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE EAST HARBOR DAMAGED
DURING THE 1995 FLOOD
WHEREAS, in 1995 the city of Seward experienced major flooding including wash out of
the area in the Northeast section of the small boat harbor; and
WHEREAS, the area near the east launch ramp was filled with material dredged from the
small boat harbor shortly after the 1995 flood and has been settling for two years; and
WHEREAS, the City utilized the proper bid procedure and requested bids for east harbor
drainage improvements; and
WHEREAS, one bid was submitted by Metco, Inc. and was found to be responsive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Metco, Inc,
to install east harbor drainage improvements at a cost not to exceed $28,950,
Section 2. Funding for this project was received from the Alaska Department of Emergency
Services under DSR 58078 and will charged to account 306-3060-306N,
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23 day
of June, 1997,
