CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-095
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE
BOARDWALK AREAS IN THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution No, 97-056, approving construction of
water and sewer lines to the Harbor Boardwalk lease sites; and
WHEREAS, the City needs to establish a budget for the Water/Sewer Line Project; and
WHEREAS, the project will be financed by the Water/Sewer Enterprise Fund which will
bill the lessees upon completion of the project; and
WHEREAS, the Harbor Enterprise Fund will pay approximately $18,936 of the cost to
install the water and sewer lines for the boardwalk sites occupied by the Seward Chamber of
Commerce and the Resurrection Bay Lions Club;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. There is hereby established a budget for the Harbor Boardwalk Leases
Water/Sewer Lines Capital Project Fund as follows:
Pipe installed, 630 feet of 8" DI pipe
Manholes (two)
Insulation (40) 16 ft, Sections
Concrete Curbe and Sidewalk Replacement
Asphalt Repair
Contingency - 10% of project cost
Engineering cost

Section 2. The amount totaling $74,468 from 1) Water Work Order Revenue, Account No,
701-7120-4880-0430 in the amount of $9,800; and 2) Sewer Work Order Revenue, Account No,

701-7120-4880-0430 in the amount of $64,668, is hereby appropriated to the Harbor Boardwalk
Leases Water/Sewer Lines Capital Project Fund, Fund Account No, 7031-5XXX-00016 in the
amount of $9,800 for the water lines and to Account No. 7031-5XXX-00017 in the amount of
$64,668 for the sewer lines. Funds are hereby appropriated from the Harbor Enterprise Fund, FY
1998 Budget, Retained Earnings Account No. 401-0000-3050 to the Harbor General Buildings
Account No. 401-4360-5920 in an amount not to exceed $18,936 for the cost of the water/sewer line
for the boardwalk sites No, 6 and No, 7
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23 day
of June, 1997,
