CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-097
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL FUND FUND
BALANCE ACCOUNT TO CLOSE OUT THE LAND AND WATER
CONSERVATION FUND WATERFRONT PARK GRANT PROJECT
WHEREAS, in 1992 the City of Seward appropriated $90,888 as matching funds under the
terms of the Federal LWCF grant by approval of Resolution No, 92-116 and Resolution No. 95-102
to enhance Waterfront Park; and
WHEREAS, 1994 the Council appropriated an additional $39,364,86 to provide adequate
handicapped-accessible restroom and shower facilities in the city's main campground; and
WHEREAS, the City was expecting a final payment from the State of Alaska in the amount
of$16,5l5,74 to close out the project, but has been informed that these funds were withheld by the
State of payment of administrative costs associated with the grant; and
WHEREAS, according to the original grant agreement, the State of Alaska is entitled to
receive 10 percent of the total project costs for administrative expense, and will therefore not
reimburse the City for the balance of $16,515,74;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $16,515,74 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund Fund
Balance Account No, 101-0000-3070-0283 to the Land and Water Conservation Fund Waterfront
Park Project Account No. 283-0000-3070-0000,
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23 day
of June, 1997,
