CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-099
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING A MATCHING GRANT FROM THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE BIKE SAFETY PROJECT
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Seward Parks and Recreation Department applied for and received
a matching BicycleIPedestrian Safety Mini Grant from the State Department of Public Safety; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to improve the existing Iditarod Trail Bike Path
and for a Bike Safety Rodeo in August; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward will provide a 25 percent match in funds from the Parks and
Recreation Department budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The State Department of Public Safety Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Mini Grant is
hereby accepted in the amount of$2,500 and appropriated to the Bike Safety project revenue account
number 200-2001-4680-0200,
Section 2. The amount totaling $781.25 is hereby appropriated from the Parks and
Recreation Programs salaries account number 101-1420-5010, and the total amount of the project,
$3,281.25 is hereby appropriated to the Bike Safety project operating supplies account number 200-
2001-5440,
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
ofJuly,1997,
