CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROPRIATING SALES TAX REVENUES FOR HOSPITAL
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Seward appropriates one percent of sales tax revenues for hospital
purposes on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, the sales tax revenues will be contributed to Providence Seward Medical
Center until completion of the new medical facility, or on November 30,1997, whichever is first,
and thereafter the sales tax will be transferred to the Hospital Debt Service fund for repayment of
the hospital bonds and the retirement of the Seward General Hospital Public Employees Retirement
Service debt; and
WHEREAS, the total one percent sales tax received was $574,312, exceeding the amount
budgeted in Fiscal Year 1997, and Council approval is needed to increase the appropriation and
transfer the additional $13,312 to the General Fund fund balance designated for Seward General
Hospital liabilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of$13,312 is hereby appropriated from sales tax revenues, Account No,
101-0000-4120-0100 to the General Fund fund balance designated for Seward General Hospital
liabilities, Account No, 101-0000-3042-000 I effective as of June 30, 1997 for the FY 1997 budget.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
of July, 1997,
