CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-106
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH CAPITOL GLASS CO. INC.
FOR REPLACEMENT OF CITY HALL DOORS AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS
WHEREAS, the entrance doors on the south and west sides of city hall are in need of
replacement; and
WHEREAS, in order to mitigate damage from the wind and everyday use, it would be in
the public interest to replace the doors with automatic sliding doors which will be more convenient
to the public and employees entering and leaving the building; and
WHEREAS, since the sliding glass doors are a specialty item, full utilization of city bid
procedures are not required in accordance with SCC S 6.10,120; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska will pay 41.7 percent of the cost of the replacement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Capitol Glass
Co, Inc, to provide and install two automatic doors at the south and west entrances to City Hall for
an amount not to exceed $25,485.
Section 2. The sum of $25,485 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund fund balance
Account No, 101-03070-0103 to the Capital Acquisition Fund Building Account No, 103-1030-
5920-0018, and the sum of $1 0,627 will be reimbursed from the State of Alaska Municipal Building
Rent Account No, 101-0000-4620-0200,
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
of July, 1997,
