CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-107
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $22,500 FOR REMOVAL OF THE UNDER-
GROUND FUEL TANK AT THE PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL CONSTRUC-
TION SITE AND APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH ALCAN GENERAL
FOR $10,699
WHEREAS, on May 27, an underground fuel tank was discovered at the Providence Seward
Medical Center construction site; and
WHEREAS, the City directed Providence to take the necessary action to ensure that the tank
was removed in accordance with the law; and
WHEREAS, Alcan General removed the fuel tank and cleaned up the site;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to pay an amount not to exceed $22,500
for removal and clean-up costs associated with the underground storage tank on the hospital
construction site to be paid from the Hospital Construction Fund Contracted Services Account No,
311-3110-5390-00004, and to approve a contract to Alcan General for not to exceed $10,699,
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption,
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
ofJuly,1997,
