CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF
A SPECIAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND
THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PROVIDE
DISPATCH AND CLERICAL SERVICES TO PUBLIC SAFETY
EMPLOYEES IN THE SEWARD AREA THROUGH JUNE 30, 1998
WHEREAS, for the past three years, the City has been a party to an agreement with the
Alaska Department of Public Safety for the provision of dispatch and clerical services to the Alaska
State Troopers and the Fish and Wildlife Protection Officers in the Seward Community; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of this agreement, the City has received compensation totaling
$48,500 annually; and
WHEREAS, this agreement expired on June 30,1997; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Alaska Department of Public Safety wish to continue this
contract through June 30, 1998, at the rate of compensation to the City noted above;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Special Services Contract between the City of Seward and the Alaska
Department of Public Safety is hereby extended through June 30, 1998.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Extension of
Contract for Special Services Agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by
reference, on behalf of the City of Seward.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this II day
of August, 1997.

EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR SPECIAL SERVICES
July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998
The parties to this contract are the Alaska Department of Public Safety (hereinafter
referred to as the "Department") and the City of Seward.
The Department and the City of Seward have entered into an agreement titled State of
Alaska, Department of Public Safety, Contract for Special Services, July 1, 1993, to
June 30, 1994 (hereinafter referred to as the "Contract"), relating to the provision of
services related to assistance in the efficient conduct of Department business within the
general geographic region of the City of Seward as outlined in the Contract.
The Department and the City of Seward previously agreed to extend the provisions of
the contract for the period from July 1, 1994, to June 30, 1997.
Now, the Department and the City of Seward hereby agree to further extend the
provisions of the Contract for the period from July 1, 1997, to June 3D, 1998,
inclusively. All verbiage of the existing contract will stay in force except for the last
sentence of paragraph 1-a of the contract, which shall read:
