CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT WITH JASON MCDONALD
DBA JASON ENTERPRISES FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF
GARBAGE WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD THROUGH DECEMBER 31,
1998
WHEREAS, the City of Seward entered into an agreement with Jason McDonald dba Jason
Enterprises for the collection and disposal of garbage on October 12, 1992; and
WHEREAS, at the October 1992 regular municipal election, the voters voted in favor of
granting a franchise to Jason Enterprises; and
WHEREAS, the contract term was five years with three one year extension options; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has performed satisfactorily and improved his services, upgraded
the trucks and equipment and maintained a low price;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the
contract with Jason Enterprises for the collection and disposal of garbage, rubbish and waste material
within the Seward limits through December 31,1998.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this II day
of August, 1997.
