CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-150
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN LANDS IN
SEWARD, ALASKA INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING SITES: SEA VIEW RV
PARK; SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER; LOWELL POINT
ROAD MOORING CELL.
WHEREAS, last year the City Council directed the issuance of a request for proposal for
the development of certain lands in Seward; and
WHEREAS, some of the properties received no response, and some had interest but the
projects failed to materialize; and
WHEREAS, other properties have been identified that are surplus to the City; and
WHEREAS, in the past it has been the City Council's policy to release surplus properties,
when it is appropriate, to the private sector through a competitive process; and
WHEREAS, there is a strong interest by business owners and developers to make capital
investments in our City before the 1998 tourist season; and
WHEREAS, three sites have been identified for inclusion into a competitive request for
proposal process; and
WHEREAS, the three sites include: Seaview RV Park; Seward Marine Industrial Center;
Lowell Point Road Mooring Cell; and
WHEREAS, with Council's approval the City Manager will begin the request for proposal
process as soon as the packet is complete to allow for summer 1998 business opportunities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a request for proposals for the
development of certain lands in Seward, Alaska including the following sites: (1) Seaview R V Park;
(2) Seward Marine Industrial Center; (3) Lowell Point Road Mooring CelL
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
