CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-157
A OLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALAS , AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A
LEASE H SEWARD SHIP'S DRYDOCK FOR ALL LAND WITHIN THE
MANAGED CEL AS IDENTIFIED IN THE EXISTING MAINTENANCE
AND OPERAT G AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY
WHEREAS, Seward S 's Drydock submitted a proposal on July 28, 1997 to lease land
on the managed parcel of the Syncr ift complex; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolu . n 94-101, Seward Ship's Drydock's proposal was sent
to the Planning & Zoning Commission for r ommendations to the Council; and
WHEREAS, at its September 3, 1997 mee' ,the Planning & Zoning Commission rejected
the proposal of Seward Ship's Drydock as presented; d
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission re mmened that Seward Ship's Drydock
lease all city property subject to lease within the confines oft existing fence; and
WHEREAS, this proposed lease area is identified in the exist! Maintenance and Operating
Agreement between the City and Seward Ship's Drydock as the mana d parcel;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COU
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to negotiate a lease with ward Ship's
Drydock for all land within the managed parcel as identified in the existing Maint
Operating Agreement with the City.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 27th
day of October, 1997.
