CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-160
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ENDORSING AND REQUESTING GRANT FUNDING FOR, IN
PRIORITY ORDER: LIBRARY PARKING LOT PAVING; CITY CAMP-
GROUND AMERICAN WITH DISABILITY ACT & UTILITY IMPROVE-
MENTS; POLICE 911 EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, each year the State of Alaska requests that eligible municipalities submit
capital projects as a part of the Municipal Capital Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, each eligible community has a projected allocation with a local required match;
and
WHEREAS, for fiscal year 1999 Seward has a projected allocation of$73,038; and
WHEREAS, all of the City Departments were given the application package and encouraged
to submit proposals; and
WHEREAS, the State requires a local resolution endorsing the prioritized list of projects;
and
WHEREAS, the Administration has evaluated the proposals and are recommending the
following projects in the following order of importance as required in the grant application; and
WHEREAS, the first priority is Library Parking Lot Paving; and
WHEREAS, the second priority is City Campground Americans with Disabilities Act and
Utility Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the third priority is Police 911 Equipment Replacement; and
WHEREAS, the City is requesting $73,032 in State grant funds and is requesting a total city
match of $13,704; and
WHEREAS, ifthe grants are awarded, the Administration will bring them before the City
Council for acceptance and budget approval at that time;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward City Council endorses and requests grant funding for, in priority
order: Library Parking Lot Paving; City Campground Americans with Disabilities Act and Utility
Improvements; and Police 911 Equipment Replacement.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of September, 1997.
