CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-169
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH RICK
ECKERT FOR CITY MANAGER SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Council advertised for the position of City Manager following the
resignation offormer City Manager Ron Garzini on September 26, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Council reviewed the applications and held public interviews with the three
final candidates for city manager; and
WHEREAS, the Council selected Rick Eckert to serve as Seward City Manager and
authorized a committee to enter into employment contract negotiations with Eckert;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the employment agreement, attached
and incorporated herein by reference, between the City Council and Rick Eckert for the position of
city manager.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23rd
day of October, 1997,
