CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-175
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION
OF THE BALLOTS FROM THE OCTOBER 1996 REGULAR ELECTION
WHEREAS, the City's records retention schedule provides for the preservation of regular
election ballots for one year following an election; and
WHEREAS, the ballots cast in the October 1, 1996, regular municipal election have been
preserved since that time as required by law and city regulation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to destroy the ballots cast in the October 1,
1996, regular municipal election in accordance with standard procedures for the destruction of other
city records,
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 27rd
day of October, 1997.
