CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-183
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING A PERMIT FOR THE DISCHARGE OF FIRE-
WORKS ON DECEMBER 31, 1997 AS REQUESTED BY THE SEWARD
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, the Seward Chamber of Commerce has requested authorization for its annual
New Year's Eve fireworks display; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of its agreement with the City, the Chamber will coordinate
the planned display with the Seward Fire Department, will provide proof of insurance as required
by the City, and will receive the Fire Chiefs approval of its plan prior to December 31, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Seward City Code Section 10.10.040 requires City Council approval prior to
any such fireworks display;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Chamber of Commerce is hereby authorized to proceed with a
fireworks display on the evening of December 31, 1997 in accordance with any rules, regulations
or other restrictions which might be imposed by the Fire Chief of the City of Seward,
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24 day
of November, 1997.
