CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-190
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR A DESIGNIBUlLD OF A WELL
AND WELL HOUSE IN FOREST ACRES
WHEREAS, in September 1997, the City issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to design
and build a well and well house in Forest Acres; and
WHEREAS, the City received two bids, one of which was responsive (Goertz), and the other
of which included the well only (Kraxberger); and
WHEREAS, the City Engineering and Utilities Manager believes that the City can build the
well house and install the associated piping for less than the RFP response indicates; and
WHEREAS, the electrical facilities for the site have already been installed in anticipation
of getting this facility installed in the fall; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends rejecting both bids to drill a well at the
site;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council rejects both proposals that were submitted for a design!build
of a well and a well house in Forest Acres.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of December, 1997.
