Sponsored by: Noll CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 90-090 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, DESIGNATING BETTE CATO AVENUE WHEREAS, Bette Cato represented the city of Seward in the Alaska State House of Representatives from January 1981 through December 31, 1989; and WHEREAS, during her tenure as the city's representative, Bette Cato was instrumental in obtaining millions of dollars to fund various capital projects of the city including the Marine Industri- al Center; and WHEREAS, Cato played an important role in the designation of Seward as the site of the state's only maximum security prison facility; and WHEREAS, the city of Seward wishes to recognize Ms. Cato's many contributions to the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The east-west road running from the beach to the Spring Creek Correctional Center is hereby designated BETTE CATO AVENUE. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
