CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
TO THE METCO CONTRACT FOR MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE
WORK AT THE NORTH DOCK
WHEREAS, a request for bids was properly advertized and a
contract was awarded to the sole bidder, METCO, Inc., for miscella-
neous concrete work on the North Dock in the Seward Marine
Industrial Center; and
WHEREAS, the work included capping exposed cells and back
filling with slurry under a concrete slab; and
WHEREAS, it was not possible to accurately determine the
quantities of concrete needed to perform the job until debris was
cleared from the site and the gravel was removed to expose the
settlement under the slab; and
WHEREAS, the final quantity of concrete exceeded that
estimated for the contract and caused the contract amount to exceed
$10,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1 to the METCO contract for miscellaneous concrete
work at the SMIC North Dock, increasing the total contract amount
from $9,750.00 to $14,150.00.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 24th day of September, 1990.
