CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-066
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
STATE JAIL CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF A SPRINKLER
SYSTEM IN THE JAIL FACILITY AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS
WHEREAS, the State Fire Marshall's Office requires the
installation of a fire sprinkler system and smoke detection devices
in the city's jail facility in order to meet State Fire Code
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety has agreed to amend
the state's j ail contract with the city to provide the funds
necessary to provide the required system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The Amendment to the Fiscal Year 1991 contract for
jail services between the state of Alaska and the city of Seward
providing funding for the installation of a fire sprinkler system
and smoke detection devices in the city jail facility is hereby
APPROVED.
section 2. The sum of $24,500 is hereby appropriated from the
State Jail Contract Revenue Account No. 101-0000-4420-0200 (as
amended) to the Jail Building Budget Account No. 101-1211-5920.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the city council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 28th day of May, 1991.

Contract Jail Amendment
This amendment of the FY 91 contrat for jail services between the State
of Alaska, Department of Public Safety and the City of Seward Is
effective April 1,1991 and expires June 30, 1991.
It 15 agreed by both partles to extend the terms and conditions of the
FY91 contract for services by amending the following sections:
Page two (2) Sectlon two (2) Part a. to be deleted and replaced with:
2. Fire Safety
a. The City will install and maintain a Fire Sprlnkler system and
Smoke detection devices in the city jail bulld'ng. The costs of
installing the Fire SprInkler system and the Smoke detectfon devices
will be reimbursed to the City by the Department, not to exceed
$24,500.00. Said rel~bursement shall be In addition to the
reimbursement installments for care and custody under paragraph 14,
