CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-078
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ENDORSING AN APPLICATION TO
THE ALASKA STATE BUILDING AUTHORITY FOR A
SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM IN SEWARD
WHEREAS, the Seward Property Owners Association is making
application to the Alaska State Building Authority to approve a
Section 8 housing program in Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Section 8 housing program is a low
assistance program to assist qualified renters
affordable housing through a voucher system; and
income rental
in obtaining
WHEREAS, state approval of the application requires local
government endorsement of the program; and
WHEREAS, the city Council finds this housing program to be in
the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Alaska State Housing Authority is urged to
approve the Seward Property Owners Association's application for a
Section 8 housing program in Seward.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 24th day of June, 1991.
