CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-081
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO REPAIR THE FOURTH
OF JULY CREEK LEVEES DAMAGED IN THE 1989 FLOOD
WHEREAS, the ci ty received state disaster funds for the repair
of the Fourth of July Creek levees which were damaged in the 1989
flood; and
WHEREAS, only a portion of the repair work has been completed;
and
WHEREAS, a total of $15,289 remains in the flood repair
project account; and
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers permit issued to the city
requires that the repair work be completed by July 15, 1991; and
WHEREAS, sealed quotes were requested from local contractors
to provide the needed repair work; and
WHEREAS, Afognak Logging submitted the lowest price quote of
$10,972.50; and
WHEREAS, the city desires to use the remaining funds to
provide for repair work on the North Dike on a time and materials
basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order to Afognak Logging to complete Fourth of July Creek
levee repairs for a total cost of $10,972.50 and to perform such
additional work as may be required for a total contract amount not
to exceed $15,289.00.
section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the city council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 8th day of July, 1991.
