HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1991-089 . . . sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 91-089 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR REPAIR OF RUSTING WINDOWS AT THE PRISON WHEREAS, the city of Seward received a settlement from Samwhan to cover the cost of repairs to rusting windows at the Spring Creek Correctional Center; and WHEREAS, the city publicly advertised a request for bids to repair the windows; and WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation and Public Facili- ties has reviewed the bids and recommends award of a contract to the low bidder, International Steel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: section 1. The City Manager is authorized to award a contract to International Steel for an amount not to exceed $219,000 for repair of rusting windows at the Spring Creek Correctional Center. section 2. A copy of the contract, once executed, shall be attached and incorporated herein by reference. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. It is distinctly understood and agreed that no claim for additional work or materials, done or furnished bv the Contractor and not specificallv herein provided for, will be allo...ed bv the Concraccing Officer, nor shall the Contractor do anv work or furnish any material not covered bv this Contract, unless such work is ordered in loITiting bv the Contracting Officer. Provided, however; that upon receipt of written notice from the Contractor of the exi~tence of causes over which the Contractor has no control and which must delay the completion of the ....ork, the Contracting Officer may, at his discretion, extend the period specified for the completion of the ....orlc, and in such case the Contractor shall become liable for liquidated damages for delays commencing from the date on which the extended period expires.
