A . RESOLUTION OF THB CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY~
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR RBPLAC
OF OIL CONTAINER TANKS AT THE FT. RAYMOND SUBSTATIO
WHEREAS, the city Electric Department current has four
above.ground fuel storage tanks at the Ft. Raymond S station; and
WHEREAS, up to 54,000 gallons of diesel fue is stored in
these tanks for use by the stand~by generators located at the
substation; and

WHBRBAS, an RFP was issued. in June, 991, to solicit proposals
for the design/build of new fuel Con ainment facilities at the

WHEREAS, Big.M submitted the only proposal received; and
WHBREAS, the Big-M propo a1 contained. two options for
addressing the problem; and
WHBRBAS, Option 1 of t proposal is considered to be the
preferred option, although it is much more costly than the
alternative; and
WHBRBAS, the total the project under Option 1 will
exceed budgeted funds;
WHEREAS, there a~ sufficient funds in the Blectric Depart-
ment's operating bu get to cover the unbudgeted amount ot the
contract;
