CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE INITIATION OF
THE DISPOSAL PROCESS FOR CERTAIN CITY SURPLUS
REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the city is the owner of certain residential property
described as Lot 12A, Block 12, Original Townsite of Seward; Lot
18, Block 1, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision; and Lots 2 and 3, Block
9, Cliff Addition; and
WHEREAS, these properties are surplus to the present and
anticipated future public needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, community residents have expressed interest in the
purchase of these properties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Lot 12A, Block 12, Original Townsite of Seward;
Lot 18, Block 1, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision; and Lots 2 and 3,
Block 9, Cliff Addition, are hereby determined to be surplus to any
present or anticipated future public needs of the city.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed
to advertise for public disposal of the above cited properties by
sealed bid.
Section 3. It is in the public interest to waive appraisal of
the subject properties and to establish as a minimum bid price a
sum equal to the assessed value established by the Kenai Peninsula
Borough for each parcel.
Section 4. The terms of the sale shall be as follows:
a. Each bid must be accompanied by a check or money
order equal to 20% of the bid amount;
b. The balance of the bid amount shall be due and
payable upon closing, and closing shall take place no more than 60
days following the bid opening; and
c. The city shall reserve the right to reject any and
all bids received.

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days
after passage and posting as required by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 23rd day of September, 1991.
