CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-120
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING PURCHASE ORDERS FOR
SAND, SALT AND CALCIUM CHLORIDE FOR WINTER ICE CONTROL
WHEREAS, a request for bids to provide salt, sand and calcium chloride for winter ice
control was advertised in accordance with standard city bid procedures; and
WHEREAS, three bids were received for salt and calcium chloride and two bids were
received for sand; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to award purchase orders for the purchase of these
materials to the low bidders;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$13,244.45 to Van Water and Rogers to provide salt and calcium chloride for winter ice control.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$10,176.00 to METCO, Inc., to provide 1200 cubic yards of street sand for winter ice control.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23rd
day of September, 1996.
