Sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 91-125 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR REPAIR OF THE CLINIC ROOF WHEREAS, in accordance with standard city bid procedures, the city of Seward solicited proposals for repair of the clinic building roof; and WHEREAS, no bids were received in response to the advertised request; and WHEREAS, the Associated General Contractors of Alaska overlooked the city's request for proposals and failed to print it in its publication to members; and WHEREAS, it is now too late in the season to re-advertise the project; and WHEREAS, the city contacted two roofing contractors and solicited proposals from them after the bid closing date; and WHEREAS, only peninsula Roofing has indicated a desire to perform the needed work; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found that it is in the public interest to make needed repairs to the Clinic roof prior to the onset of winter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive bid require- ments for repair of the Clinic building roof. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a contract in an amount not to exceed $14,980.00 to peninsula Roofing for repair of the Clinic roof. Section 3. The sum of $14,980 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund Fund Balance to Hospital Expense Account No. 101-1180- 5920. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. -1- . .
