CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-128
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO CHUGACH
ELECTRIC FOR EMERGENCY WORK PERFORMED UNDER A
MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY
WHEREAS, on August 10, 1991, the 69 kv transmission line to
the city of Seward failed; and
WHEREAS, investigation of the failure narrowed the area of the
fault to that section of the T-Line located between Mile 8 and Mile
18; and
WHEREAS,
helicopter to
failure; and
this remote location required the services of a
patrol the area in search of the cause of the line
WHEREAS, most of the available city line crew was needed to
operate the substation generators during the outage; and
WHEREAS, the city requested assistance from Chugach Electric
under an existing mutual assistance agreement; and
WHEREAS, an invoice for services provided by Chugach Electric
has been received, and funds are available within the Electric Fund
to cover the cost of assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to make payment to
Chugach Electric Association in the amount of $12,134.90 to cover
the cost of emergency work performed by Chugach under a mutual
assistance agreement with the city.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 14th day of October, 1991.
