CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-142
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, EXTENDING A CONTRACT WITH
MARATHON FUEL TO PROVIDE PETROLEUM PRODUCTS TO
THE CITY THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1992
WHEREAS, on January 14, 1991, the City Council approved
Resolution No. 91-003, awarding a contract to Marathon Fuel Service
to provide petroleum products to the city on an as needed basis;
and
WHEREAS, the one-year contract included an option to renew for
one additional year; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has provided satisfactory service
during the term of the contract, and there is no economic advantage
to rebid at this time; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to exercise the city's
option to renew the petroleum products contract with Marathon Fuel
for an additional year to expire December 31, 1992;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
an amendment to the contract with Marathon Fuel Service to provide
petroleum products to the city of Seward through December 31, 1992.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of November, 1991.
