CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-151
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
A D3C CATERPILLAR CRAWLER DOZER
WHEREAS, the city properly advertised a request for bids to
provide a new Crawler Dozer equivalent or equal to a Case 450C; and
WHEREAS, five bids were received and publicly opened on
December 2, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the equipment specified in the bid submitted by the
low bidder did not meet the specifications set out in the bid
documents; and
WHEREAS, the administration has recommended that the Council
reject the low bid and award the contract for purchase to the next
low bidder, N. C. Machinery, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds were included in the FY 1992 budget
to cover the purchase of this equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The low bid submitted by Craig Taylor is hereby
found to be nonresponsive and is REJECTED.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase
order to N. C. Machinery, Inc., in the amount of $50,445.00 for the
purchase of a D3C Series II Caterpillar Crawler Dozer, FOB Seward.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 9th day of December, 1991.
